Well

The last 4 weeks I’ve been learning stand up comedy with the laughing horse comedy company and the incredibly talented Jay Sodagar.  Over the course we have developed a 5 minute set which i shall be performing in London on the 13th of may around 8pm! At This venue Me here!Which is a cross between Exciting and very fucking scary. I’ve two weeks to hone my act and slap it into shape… Then if all goes well… I shall Embark on a year of open mike.  I’m willing to give it a shot as a career move of a type.  It fits in with everything else I’m doing in my life, and with the support of those around me….

Another Year Older

I try not to publicise my birthdays

But this year as it fell on a long weekend, I thought what the hay, I’ll celebrate and invite people to eat Pizza with my, and I have to say it was a suprise when most of them said they would come.  So lets hope it a good one eh?  I woke up and didn’t even think about it being my birthday, it is really only that I got an email reminding me.  Yes I new it was, but it does not actualy mean anything to me any more.

So what have you got?

Not a lot: A mini green house and a Southampton annual off my folks, a number of healthy cook books and a ‘you are what you eat DVD’ off my sister and her kin. And a Rather good Dusty [that’s dusty springfield] CD off my mates Gorden and Tony, which is rather top actually as I intend to increase the female vocal talents on my music collection, and there are some absolute crackers on it.

And what does the day have n store for you?

Well I’ve had a cuddle off Bella already, so Poached eggs and some work really.  I need to wash and valet one car and service another, then I really must do some ranting and raving on my mini disc ready to write up on the train come Tuesday.  Then around 12 Kelly will cook me lunch one handed, before my friends turn up around 6pm.  Then it all gets a bit silly.

What Would you do?

Busy or Content?

I know when I have little time in my life, I don’t blog. I’d almost forgotten, but then somebody else’s blog reminded me that I must.  So I am.  Interestingly I’d like to talk a little bit about blogging.  Hello! I blog and have done for the best part of ten years.  And at one point I had over two thousand hits a day! Since then I’ve disappeared from chalkster.co.uk and used a few other places including myspace [sorry] to talk the talk.

Back for what reason?

Mostly that bloging gets me moving, it makes me write and I am primarily a writer so that is fairly good news! It allows me to get the things off my chest that are on my chest so that I can work on that deep underlying section.   It’s also a place that I rant and it makes me feel better.  But remember fellow blogers, if you rant it can come back and bite you on the botty. Whilst I have not kept all of my blogs, other people on ‘tinternet, have.  Ben found some of my earliest and most depressing ones.  Not to mention the ones that throw your truth telling into question.

Don’t Move That chair!

Really me? But I need to move it to steal your gin? It sometimes strikes me that some people really don’t understand their short comings.  I have had lodgers for many years, that help me subsidise my living, or help pay the bills. It’s a proper compromise as my house to date has never really been my house.  Some people that move in realise this, and realise that they have to give me room and treat my house like paying guests.  Others just don’t give a flying fuck about you, your space or anybody else living in the house.  They then don’t understand why they no longer or never fit it.  I suspect this is a longer term social dynamic for these people, and they wander through life just thinking ‘Not another weird person that I don’t get on with, that must make all the people I’ve ever met so far!’.

Me

So my life has taken on a few different dynamics.  We will be filming Chop in May and it looks good. Very good. Nemesis ‘39 looks terrific, when I read it now its like somebody else has written it. Then there is the CRDC. I’m doing a lot of things to feel the characters, as Jon told me ‘How can you write about these people, what do you know of them?’… So I’m now learning about them.  First off is Keith, the non committal pick up artist, I’m studying pick up artist [realy I am and it is fascinating].  The other one is learning about Sunny. I’m spending the next year trying to become a ‘Stand Up’, and with the support of those around me I think I can do it.  More to come, though Right now i need to go and take the deposit on a car.
