A letter to Sarah

Dreams

And obviously I was watching Chuck last night before I went to bed.   So last night I dreamed that I was going out with Sarah [Yvonne Strahovski ]off the T.V. Series ‘Chuck‘, Which is my favorite show since the end of Buffy.  Which by the way was always about Faith to me. I digress again; I dreamed that I not only met, but started dating and spending quality time with ‘Yvonne’, now this was not a wet dreamed, nor did it even touch upon rude.  It was rather sweet as it happens.  I felt really happy, totally content.  Worst of all it felt real.  Then all of a sudden I woke from a rather settled life of joy and happiness to the grey sky’s of England and the knowledge that I’ve a lot of work to do before I feel anything like that.  CRAP.

My First Couple of Days Working on a Feature

Well for starters not a single frame has been shot, but the run up to the start is very, very interesting.  Monday I returned all the kit I borrowed to make my short film and helped to build the internal set.  I presume we are building to make all the blood and guts scenes so that we don’t have to clean the real set.  This involved getting all that old wall frames and beating off the MDF from the frames then fixing new MDF on the other sides.  After this we build the three internal wall of the house, which I  imagine are being made identical in my absence.  I picked up the kit van yesterday, and then the props, today I picked up the catering Marque which I shall leave at the farm tomorrow. Then Friday see’s a long trip to Leeds to pick up the film gear.

Have you learned much?

So far, yes a huge deal.  I hope I’m making Mental notes of how things can be done better too.  Andy keeps feeding me tip-bits and ideas on how to go about filming.  I suspect I’ll be firing my first one out in the year of 2010.  We already have a very clear story forming, which is of course over ambitious, but none the less fascinatingly exciting to imagine.

Monday

My first professional shoot.
