Run Number Two

Friday, April 23rd, 2010

Should have been yesterday

But for that pesky third bottle of red.  I was determined this morning that it would happen even though  I may have had one to many in the beer garden after helping Baz paint the front of his house all day.  Tom popped by and we had a couple of cans whilst I held the ladder. Then the magnetism of the Marsh garden became too much.

Did you run?

Well yes actually I did.  I set my alarm for 6.45am and awaoke promtly at 6am hoping that it was later and I’d slept through the set window.  No joy, I still had to run.  I got as far as the City Arms today though, the problem was Si had set my mental target as the Magie Arms, so when we got near there and he suggested the City after all, it was hugely dificult to re-motivate.  But we did it and right now I don’t feel too bad for it at all.  So I’m off to the gym in a mo!

Twitter

So as par of the course now, we have set up a twitter account and are hoping to entice enough followers of ChalkStar to help us get ‘No Balls’ going.  With 23 followers to date, it feel a long haul.  We’ve been posting our top 10 best and worst films over the past week.  Today my worst film No: 4 was Lesbian Vampire Killers.  In the process I found this revue, and apart from thinking it looked good [the lighting was awful as were the sets] I pretty much agree with it.

Politics

Right now, I dont really want to go on about politics too much so I’ll just give a very short opinion.  David Cameron is a c??t, and I’ll take any government that are not led by him or Nick Griffin [or whatever that tossers name is].   It’s pretty simple really.  Unless they can offer me a two day working week and an all year summer, I will not change my opinion.  Interestingly I heard yesterday that when he [toff wanker] is in front of the camera he is unbearably posh and has to tone down in front of people because they don’t understand him! Not a lot of people know that.

It’s a Start

Well, I went for a run this morning.  It’s the first proper outside run I’ve done in probably 0ver four years, I know this for two reasons, one I was working at easynet and the second is that Andy was lodging in the house at the time.  I did go for a run around the park whith Kelly once, but running in circles is so boring and I was not really doing very much in the way of exorcise at the time.

So how was it?

I’m still alive, that is a start.  the alarm went of at six forty five this morning, I very nearly rolled over, but had agreed to run with Si, so that was just enough motivation to get up and get out of bed and prepare myself.  Si appeared at seven and reminded me to stretch [doh] and off we went. Actually we managed fifteen minutes before walking back.  From mine that’s down Saunders road along Florence park Finishing up dawn Ifley Road. Call me craz, but I’m off to the gym now!

Anybody else

Find the lack of aeroplanes really nice, it almost seams like a holiday with the free sky’s!

We May Just be Lucky

It’s looking more like the Conservatives will be pipped to the post, most likely by a hung parliament, that whilst not ideal is far, far better then having the laudecress party packed to the rafters by silver spooned toffs that have no idea about the people.   I’ve often said that if Camaron gets in I would move, leave the country.  I cant imagine having anybody so removed from reality in charge of this great nation.  Unfortunately, should this terrible event happen, it’s unlikely I would be able to pack up and leave as my property value is likely to be ruduced by twenty percent and that unemployment will be increased by a minimum of two hundred and fifty thousand jobs, well I would have to rent the house out to students - that aint never gonna happen! This means that I may end up voting for a party that if you had even asked me a year ago, I would ever have believed possible.  No I’m not going Nationalist ;)

Well,

Off to the gym then!

A Good Weekend

Monday, April 19th, 2010

Mostly,

The lack of money around does mean that we tend to spend a larger amount of time around one of the houses, this does generally mean good food, plenty of wine [judging by the recycle boxes brimming over] and excellent company.  A few really good things to come out of the weekend, were: My garden getting tidied, the BBQ comming back to life and watching Inglorious Bastards.

#1

Lets start with the latter, it is in my opinion, QT’S very best work, the photography, casting, locations, sets and lighting were tremendous.   TO have an opening scenes that is twenty minutes long is very brave and only possible when you are at the very best of your game.  Taranteno is at the best of his game with this film and really joins the greats as a fully accomplished film maker.  I only hope one day to brush close to his brilliance.  It is certainly the best film that I have scene this year.

#2

Simon was an absolute legend spending hours helping me shred pampas grass and tidy up the garden that, like most of the house, have let fall a little out of keeping since Kelly moved out nearly two years ago.  Perhaps its more like, since she moved in? Anyway, it’s looking so much better which makes me in turn feel better.  It’s an extra living space with the added benefit of lots of sunsheeeine. Which makes you feel better.  In fact I was explaining to Si, how I’ve always wanted an outside C shaped Sofa on the end decking, but can scarce afford what I already have.  He came up with a simply brilliant idea, yep you guessed it.  We are building a paper mache garden living area.  I will post pictures as it progresses.  Simply Brilliant!

 The Library

I finaly  made it to the Cowley branch of the public library on Friday.  It takes about nine minutes to walk there from my house, which makes the nine years it took me to get there even more impressive.  Unfortunately the only book they had on film making was this:

Plan B

Still it may have something in it, then again it may not!  I’ve also taken out a couple of books that follow similar story ideas to some of our PiTches,  sadly the first one feels like its been written by a twelve year old at best.  Ho Hum.
